What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Accounting position at Stealth Talent Solutions?
Director of Accounting
Hybrid | West Los Angeles (3 days in-office: Tues–Thurs)
Full-time | High-growth media & entertainment company
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a fast-growing, creator-led media and entertainment company that sits at the intersection of sports, culture, and digital storytelling. Backed by strong revenue momentum, this business produces premium original content, works closely with talent and brands, and operates in a dynamic, creative, and high-energy environment.
They are hiring a Director of Accounting to serve as a hands-on leader within Finance, reporting directly to the senior finance executive. This is a critical role for someone who thrives in growth-stage environments, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and wants real ownership over accounting operations, close, reporting, and process improvement.
If you enjoy being close to the business, collaborating cross-functionally, and building scalable systems while still doing the work, this role was designed for you.
What You’ll Do
This is a very hands-on accounting leadership role, not a purely managerial position.
You will own and lead:
- Month-end close (currently ~7 days, with a goal to reach a consistent 5-day soft close)
- Full general ledger oversight and account reconciliations
- Revenue recognition tied to advertising and sponsorship delivery
- Financial reporting and budget-to-actuals analysis
- Show-level and initiative-level P&Ls
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Payroll oversight
- Technical accounting and policy recommendations
- Support of annual, non-public audits
- Budget review, approvals, and cost-savings analysis
- Implementation of automation and AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency
You’ll manage a lean team (internal accountants plus outsourced AP) and act as a true thought partner to Finance leadership and department heads.
