As a Catering Sales Rep/Manager, you will have full ownership of all catering that flows through restaurants in your territory. You will cultivate relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations to implement and highlight our full catering program to build regular/repeat clients. This role requires high levels of professionalism at all interactions while growing our catering program that delivers an attractive, branded final presentation.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect for new clients, generate leads, and proactively seek new business opportunities through networking and outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and repeat customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Respond to inquiries, provide quotes, and negotiate contracts for catering services
- Conduct engaging site visits and tastings
- Work with operations team to plan and execute catering orders ensuring all program quality metrics are hit
- Ensure operations utilizes sales collateral and branded packaging following best practices
- Partner with marketing and field leadership to highlight current product offerings
- Follow up with catering clients to ensure expectations were met to their satisfaction
- Handle client issues, as needed
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely sales reports
Job Requirements
- Must have 3-5 years of sales expertise - preferably in a QSR brand
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to cold call, prospect, and close orders
- Proven ability to develop strategies that meet sales goals
- Ability to manage multiple events and clients simultaneously while coordinating logistics with operations
- Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure seamless events
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Digital Tools, and CRM platforms. Preference to experience working with EZCater/Olo and HubSpot, Salesforce, ZoomInfo
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to break down costs and gain client buy in
- Collaborative, high-energy, and passionate about the Steak n Shake brand and our updated value proposition in the market. You work well with the public and can network in our local communities
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions and ability to maintain a passing MVR
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work off hours – especially during peak catering times
