Position Summary
Steadfast Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to accurately prepare competitive bids for commercial and residential electrical projects. This position plays a critical role in securing new business and ensuring project profitability.
Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages.
- Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, engineers, and clients throughout the estimating process.
- Analyze project risks and opportunities to maximize profitability.
- Maintain estimating databases and current pricing information.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
- Assist with project handoff and budgeting after contract award.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience estimating commercial and Residential electrical projects.
- 5-10 years of electrical estimating experience preferred.
- Experience using BuildOps or similar construction management and service software
- Knowledge of NEC codes and electrical construction practices.
- Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
