Director of Sales

We are looking for self-motivated director of sales for the Bismarck Staybridge Suites.

The role of the Director of Sales is essential to the success of the hotel. That success depends upon the ability of the Director of Sales to interact constructively in community activities, create good positive community relationships and possess the ability to implement productive sales and marketing strategies/techniques that accurately reflect and enhance the hotel image in the community. His/her sales ability must positively affect the growth and success of the hotel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or four years related work experience
• Prior hotel experience
• Previous sales experience with a proven track record of success
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong customer service skills to include problem-solving and complaint resolution
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment and discretion
• Ability to supervise sales support staff
• Self-starter with high degree of initiative
• Intermediate word processing and database skills

Duties & Tasks to Achieve Hotel Success:

1. Conduct prospecting sales calls - average of 30 per week. In-person appointments including site tours, internet research, newspapers, business card drawings, etc.

2. Book new business through proactive solicitation.

3. Be familiar with competition in the market/competitive set.

4. Maintain accurate account files and records of all customer contacts.

5. Maintain effective customer trace and file system.

6. Prepare weekly sales call reports on all sales activity and submit to the general manager and the regional manager.

7. Coordinate and execute sales blitzes for the hotel as requested by the general manager.

8. Assist with producing, executing and updating the annual Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management Action Plan.

9. Assist in training guest service representatives and property management team on selling skills, sales ambassador program, and other sales-related training.

10. Assist with ensuring all sales collateral is current, accurate and portrays a professional image for the hotel.

11. Possession of a valid driver's license and evidence of self-insurability.

12. Respond to additional sales-related needs at the direction of the general manager.
