Summary:

Estimators will work under the supervision of the branch manager and general manager to assist with the development of cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Review bid documents and make notes of requirements.

· Prepare cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools.

· Analyze project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements.

· Use benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations.

· Analyze plans and job requirements to estimate material and labor costs for projects to include delivery, installation, maintenance, and removal of equipment.

· Communicate and collaborate with Sales, Operations, Contracts and Purchasing during pre-bid efforts.

· Collaborate and effectively communicate with contractors, following up on quotes, change orders, and material requests.

· Notify management of design-related issues, completeness of documents and other potential risks.

· When requested, provide information on specifications that arise in current and/or future jobs.

· Ensure adherence to safety, quality, compliance, and ethics on all estimates.

· Other projects and initiatives that drive organizational goals and results.

· None

Education, Certifications & Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, math, or related field.

· Experience in a construction or field related services industry. Traffic Control industry desired but not required.

· 1-3 years of related experience or additional specialized training and/or certification.

· Familiarity with CRM tacking tools and sales follow up processes.

· Must have strong problem-solving skills and a desire to create solutions.

· Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Must have the ability to work in sensitive and confidential situations.

· Prior experience working under tight deadlines with changing priorities.

· Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.

· Excellent organization and time management skills.

· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal or external customers.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently, be self-motivated with a high sense of urgency.

· Ability to establish and maintain rapport and effective communication with diverse levels within the company and external organizations.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time at a computer and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. The employee is moderately required to stand and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

· This position will work in an office setting but may travel to off-site locations and therefore require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, high-visibility safety vest and/or steel toed footwear. At times client contract driven PPE may also be required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
