Estimator

SouthernCross Construction, Inc a growing heavy civil and infrastructure construction company is seeking a Civil Estimator with experience in Utilities/ Heavy Civil Projects.

Summary Of Duties

Position will entail quantity take-offs, cost analysis, interaction and solicitation of subcontractors, utilization of current estimating software including Agtek, HCSS, and Blue Beam. The candidate should have expertise in utility, civil and earthwork scopes. Preparation of cost estimates, interaction with clients, subcontractors, engineers and others requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills which will be expected.

Position Requirements

• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
• Knowledge of construction practices, techniques and equipment.
• Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office, and Bluebeam. Related estimating software experience a plus.
• Knowledge and Experience with Spreadsheets.
• Ability to work with a team and willing to promote teamwork.
  
  

Preferred Education And Experience

• College degree related to Construction Management, Estimating, or Engineering Preferred but not Mandatory.
• 4-5 years of estimating experience.
  
  

Additional Eligible Qualifications

• Knowledge of local municipal construction standards and NCDOT standards are a plus, however not required.
