Housekeeper

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Hotel Housekeeper to join our team at The Garden Hotel & Resort in Fort Lauderdale. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned public areas according to hotel standards

• Replace linens, towels, and toiletries as needed

• Dust furniture, vacuum floors, mop floors, clean and disinfect surfaces, and remove trash

• Replenish room amenities, such as water, coffee, and tea

• Report any maintenance issues, damage, or lost and found items to the supervisor

• Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures

• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment

• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with guests and coworkers

• Adhere to the hotel’s policies regarding privacy and confidentiality

Must-Have Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

• Able to lift, bend, stand, and move for extended periods

• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Basic English communication skills 

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience 

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per workday)

• Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching to manage supplies and assist staff

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (e.g., linen, amenities, equipment)

• FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt 

• Reports To: Housekeeping Manager

• Work location: Onsite at The Garden Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

• Work environment: Exposure to hot, cold, and/or humid environments.

• Working schedule: Flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays is essential, as scheduling will depend on business needs. This position may require evening availability. Adaptability is key in a hospitality environment
