This mobile position is based in Orange, CA, with regular travel to Gardena and Jurupa Valley branches. Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair a variety of gas-powered and electric commercial landscaping equipment, including blowers, weed eaters, push mowers, ride-on and stand-on mowers, with a focus on Kress and Mean Green electric equipment.
- Handle warranty-related diagnostics for electric equipment and coordinate major repairs as needed to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
- Perform minor repairs and part replacements on small utility vehicles; major engine overhauls are not required.
- Assess repair needs, submit purchase order requests, pick up parts from suppliers, and maintain organized parts inventory at each branch.
- Assist with light fabrication tasks and general handyman duties to support branch operations.
- Meet with crews and branch managers each morning to identify equipment issues, prioritize repairs, and provide clear updates in both English and Spanish.
- Follow all company safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized mobile work setup, and operate a company vehicle responsibly.
- Document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance activities; keep inventory records up to date.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on small engine repair experience; experience with commercial landscaping equipment is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required for effective communication with crews and staff.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong understanding of gas (two- and four-stroke) and electric motor systems, electrical troubleshooting, batteries, controllers, and standard diagnostic procedures for outdoor power equipment.
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, kneeling, and using tools for extended periods.
Compensation
$24.00 $40.00 per hour, based on experience. Overtime available with prior approval.
