Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Duty (Mobile) Diesel Technician

POSITION: Mobile Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic – Heavy and Medium Duty

LOCATION: Huntington Beach

COMPENSATION: Base level $38.00 - $50.00 per hour based on experience plus medical benefits. Please inquire for more details.

JOB SUMMARY: Mobile Heavy & Medium Duty Truck and Trailer Fleet Services, Inspections, & Repairs.

Most Common Repairs Include:

· DOT & BIT Inspections

· Computer Engine Diagnostics with JPro, Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, International Navistar, Diesel Laptop, or similar tools. Must be able to Identify fault codes and make necessary repairs

· ECM Calibrations & Updates

· Testing & Resetting the SCR System (SCR Catalyst, DEF Injector (Doser Valve), DEF Pump, and DEF Tank & Heaters)

· Conduct DEF Quality Testing & Priming

· Forced Regens

· EGR Valve Testing & Replacement

· Fuel System Priming (Air in the Lines)

· Troubleshooting Wiring and Signal Issues

· Wheel seal replacement

· Mobile - Radiator / Coolant leak repairs

· Extract broken studs. Reinstall new studs and outer cap nuts.

· Brake replacements – Drums, Shoes, Air Lines, etc.

· Replace Slack Adjusters

· Fan Clutch Replacement

· Electrical / Lighting / Fuses Troubleshooting and replacement. Tracing Shorts\

· Install new radiator, hose-elbow, clamps, and top fluids.

· DPF & DOC Filter Replacements

· Remove and replace DEF Pump, Inlet Nox Sensor, DEF Dozer Valve, and other components of the aftertreatment system.

· Truck, Liftgate & Reefer battery replacements

· Trailer and Container chassis repairs

· Liftgate Repairs

· Air Spring / Air Bag Replacements

· Install New Landing Gear

· Wet Service – Oil, Coolant, Fuel / Water Separator fluid exchange and filter replacement

· Flush Radiator

· Install new 7-way electric breaker with new box

· Install Brake Air Lines

· Replace Leaf Springs

· Remove and replace spring brake control valve

· Remove and Replace Starters & Alternators

· Remove and replace the crankcase filter

· Install Gladhands

· AC System- Remove and Replace all AC system components and utilize AC machines to complete all necessary aspects of an AC service.

· Perform AC leak test. Remove and replace the high-pressure discharge line. Remove and replace O-ring seals on all lines. Remove evaporator core from dash and clean all dirt and debris. Reseal the plenum.

· Clean Truck Check Certified Emissions Testing

· Clutch Adjustments

· Fleet Services, Preventative Maintenance, and Emergency Breakdown / Roadside Repairs

Provided: Fully Loaded Service Truck, Uniforms, Overtime Available, Great Working Environment

This work is accomplished through the use of hand tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.

Work is of a physical nature and involves working outside, kneeling, bending, and stooping daily. Work provides the satisfaction of solving customers’ problems daily.
