What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skills Trainer position at Stavros?
AMHERST Skills Trainer For MassHealth members who apply to Stavros for
the PCA Services through MassHealth the Skill Trainer will provide the
following services: Assessment, Orientation and Skills Training. To
educate and assist individuals with disabilities to acquire and maintain
personal assistant services so that they will be able to effectively
manage their own PCA programs and live independently. In addition, to
monitor the progress in acquiring and maintaining personal care
Assistant Services. Requirements To Remain Informed About State And
Federal regulatory changes in policy and procedures as they are related
to the Personal Assistant Services through readings and meetings
assigned by the Director of Skills Trainers and Skills Trainer
Coordinator. To review the performance of PCA consumer and/or surrogates
to ensure that they are administering the Program in compliance with the
MassHealth PCA program regulations and ensuring that the participant has
maximum control over their programs. To identify additional needs of
Consumer that help maximizes their independents; including but not
limited to transportation, housing, communication needs,
social/recreational, advocacy, assistance equipment, and MassHealth
(Medicaid) eligibility and to report these to the Skills Trainer
Coordinator. To be knowledgeable about the services provided by Stavros;
to represent Stavros in a professional manner; to be aware of the
independent living philosophy and encourage and foster others; to
take/keep control of their lives. Schedule Monday through Friday
9am-5:30pm, Full Time 40 hours per week with benefits 3 Day Traveling
and 2 days in the Office located in Springfield and Amherst. Mileage
Reimbursement at \$.72.5/per mile Qualifications Valid Drivers License
and Reliable Transportation Required to work in Amherst and Springfield
Office Traveling in the Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties meeting
with consumers face to face High Diploma or equivalent is required Data
Entry and Assessment Skills Excellent Communication and interpersonal
Abilities Time Management And Customer Service Skills Empathy, Patience,
and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities
