Lead Repair Technician Job Location: Amherst Office Salary Range:
\$25.00/hourly Key Responsibilities: The Lead Repair Technician provides
technical support and performs hands-on repairs for consumers enrolled
in the Wheelchair Loaner & Simple Repair Program. Responsible for
overseeing other technicians, and leading the community provider
training and development component of the program. This position ensures
consistent repair practices, quality assurance, and staff skill
enhancement across all service partners. The Lead Technician supports
compliance with contractual standards and maintains high levels of
consumer satisfaction through timely, accurate, and safe repairs. -
Oversees Repair Technicians - Respond to service calls and complete
safe, effective repairs in various settings, including homes, clinics,
schools, and community locations. - Perform simple repairs and routine
maintenance on manual and power wheelchairs, following program
guidelines. - Support the Loaner Wheelchair Program by preparing,
cleaning, sanitizing, delivering, and retrieving loaner equipment as
needed. - Ensure all repairs and loaner activities are performed safely
with respect to the consumer, and meet quality and documentation
standards. Qualifications: - Have sufficient skills, qualifications and
experience to perform wheelchair simple repairs. Examples can include
auto mechanical experience, machine shop repair, bicycle shop repair. -
Assistive Technology Professional certification or having comparable
Experience Analyzing The Needs Of Consumers With Disabilities And
assisting in the selection of appropriate assistive technology for their
needs - At least 3 years of direct mechanical experience. Any wheelchair
or mobility device repair experience and/or exposure is a bonus. - Valid
driver\'s license and ability to drive across the program\'s service
areas (Hampden, Hampshire,Franklin, Worcester and Berkshire counties) -
Proven ability to train and mentor technicians or community providers. -
Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work
independently and collaboratively across teams. Familiarity with Asset
