Counter Sales Associate

Responsibilities

· Greet customers promptly and provide friendly, knowledgeable service

· Assist customers in identifying and purchasing correct automotive parts and accessories

· Use NAPA catalog systems (electronic and paper) to look up parts accurately

· Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries

· Process sales transactions, returns and special orders

· Maintain clean, organized and well stocked counter and sales areas

· Receive, stock and label inventory as needed

· Work closely with team members to meet store sales and service goals

· Follow company policies, safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or GED preferred

· Automotive parts knowledge or mechanical experience strongly preferred

· Prior retail, counter sales, or customer service experience helpful

· Ability to use computers, POS systems, and parts lookup software

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shift

· Ability to lift, carry, push and pull automotive parts and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs (with or without assistance)

· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch frequently

· Ability to use hands and fingers for handling small parts, operating a keyboard and using point-of-sale systems

· Ability to reach overhead and access shelving at various heights

· Ability to visually identify parts, read labels, screens and printed materials

· Ability to hear and communicate effectively with customers and team members in a retail environment

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
