Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment. Candidate will also be transporting bore mud to assist our bore crews. The candidate must have a Class A Commercial Drivers License. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work efficiently in various outdoor conditions. The candidate must be detail-oriented and be able to identify hazards.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks to perform safe excavation and utility exposure.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute excavation projects effectively.
- Utilize backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks as needed for various tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with a strong understanding of hydrovac operations.
- Experience in backhoe operation, loader operation, and dump truck driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices.
- Previous experience in excavation or construction environments is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of water truck operations is a plus.
