Job Overview

Duties
- Assist senior estimators in preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop accurate pricing and takeoffs
- Support negotiation processes with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights and verify project conditions that impact cost estimates
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations
- Monitor and update cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget integrity
- Assist in reviewing contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure compliance and clarity
Experience
- Prior experience or internship in construction estimating or related field is preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential
- Familiarity with construction estimating principles, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and bid preparation
- Experience using Bluebeam for digital document markup and collaboration is a plus
- Basic understanding of construction site operations and safety protocols
- Knowledge of construction management practices, including contract administration and project coordination
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and team members
- Proficiency in using estimation software such as HeavyBid or similar tools is advantageous
