Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory techniques related to ophthalmology, physiology, and anatomy to support product development and testing.
- Manage laboratory operations, including equipment calibration, maintenance, and inventory control, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 standards.
- Conduct detailed laboratory procedures such as optical measurements, anatomical assessments, and physiological testing using specialized tools like CNC lathes and optical instruments.
- Maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols by documenting procedures, analyzing data, and implementing improvements to meet industry regulations.
- Support retail sales initiatives by providing technical expertise on optical products and assisting in product demonstrations or customer consultations when needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new testing methods, improve existing processes, and ensure laboratory safety standards are upheld.
- Keep detailed records of all laboratory activities, test results, and quality assurance measures for audit readiness and continuous process enhancement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology, physiology, anatomy, and optical sciences is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality management standards applicable to medical device manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with CNC lathe operations or similar machining tools used in optical component fabrication is a plus.
- Strong laboratory management skills including inventory control, equipment calibration, and safety compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting retail or customer-facing activities when required.
