/Duties
Student Life Center Attendants work at the Front Desk and Equipment Checkout. They also supervise the Fitness Areas and work as Building Managers.
General duties/responsibilities:

- Provide good customer service by being attentive, friendly and helpful.
- Be knowledgeable about Student Life Center program offerings and be able to confidently provide information to patrons.
- Enforce Student Life Center policies and procedures in a consistent manner.
- Adhere to the department dress code (polo, athletic wear, etc.).
- Always carry a radio with you and use it in a professional manner for work purposes only.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies/incidents that occur while you are on duty.
- Address and report problems that you encounter while on duty.
- Arrive on time and only leave when your shift is over.
- Follow proper procedure to find coverage when unable to attend a scheduled shift.
- Submit payroll in a timely manner (by 5p.m. Friday following end of pay period).
- In the case of emergency, communicate with Director/Assistant Director.
- Must attend all required trainings and meetings.
- Must be willing to work early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
Duties Related to Front Desk:
- Welcome patrons upon entering the facility.
- Validate memberships by swiping ID cards.
- Sell services and guest passes using Fusion Software System.
- Answer the phone in a professional manner, take notes, and relay information to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Duties Related to Equipment Checkout:
- Manage the rental/sale of equipment using Fusion Software.
- Properly complete laundry duties including washing, drying, and folding.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventory.
- Report and document damaged equipment using provided forms.
- Direct patrons to the Recreational Sports Office when equipment is returned past allotted rental period.
Duties Related to Fitness Attendant:
- Circulate throughout all fitness related spaces throughout your entire shift to ensure all patrons are safe and areas are well kept and clean.
- Clean/organize each area (disinfect and wipe down cardio equipment/benches, re-rack weights, etc.).
- Report and document broken or malfunctioning equipment using provided forms.
Days/Hours Needed
Shifts are typically 2-3 hours long (it is possible to work double shifts up to six hours) between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Required Qualifications
- Must be a current SUNY student.
- Must hold certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or be willing to become certified within 30 days of hire.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Demands
- Have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to walk around and supervise various areas within the facility.
- Be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
