What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor, Inorganic Chemistry position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
Expected to begin Fall 2026, this tenure-track position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in inorganic chemistry (and associated lab), organic chemistry (and associated lab), or general chemistry (and associated lab) as needed, and/or elective courses in the applicant’s areas of expertise. A typical expected teaching load is some combination of lecture and/or lab sections that totals three sections per semester; faculty rotate through different courses as departmental needs dictate. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format. This position requires excellent teaching, institutional service, and mentorship of undergraduate research with the potential to develop a sustained scholarly program that involves students and is able to secure external funding.
