What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor, Biology position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
Expected to begin Fall 2026, this tenure-track position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in introductory biology (and associated lab), genetics (and associated lab), cell biology, communicating biology, and courses in the applicant’s areas of expertise. A typical expected teaching load is some combination of lecture and/or lab sections that totals three sections per semester; faculty rotate through different courses as departmental needs dictate. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format. This position requires excellent teaching, institutional service, mentorship of undergraduate research, and high-quality research suitable for a small liberal arts institution.
