Service Retirement Division Business Hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm, schedule to be determined between manager and employee.
Current In-Office Requirement: Two (2) days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
The CalSTRS Service Retirement Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Analyst II on the Systems & Data Team.
Service Retirement is the largest benefit program within CalSTRS and responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of benefits to retired California educators.
The Systems & Data team works closely with Technology Services and other business areas to support the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and CalSTRS administrative database. Represents the Service Retirement (SR) Division for system-related enhancements, testing efforts, maintenance, and to assure SR business processes are functioning as designed. The team also organizes and analyzes data outputs related to SR’s daily operations and Public Records Act.
Under the direction of the Systems & Data Team Manager, Pension Program Manager I, the Analyst ll will independently, and in a team environment, perform the more complex duties and analytical tasks associated with system development, testing, and maintenance, and ensure division-related business processes are functioning as designed in the system. The Analyst ll will also organize and analyze data outputs related to daily operations and Public Records Act.

Knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for software development.

Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025. This program reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits for the duration of the program. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the reduced amounts.
