Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS) , is recruiting for a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) headquartered at one of the Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities ( ICF-IID) :
  • Central Wisconsin Center - Madison, WI
  • Northern Wisconsin Center - Chippewa Falls, WI
  • Southern Wisconsin Center - Union Grove, WI
  • Winnebago Mental Health Institute - Oshkosh, WI
This position will typically work Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:30pm, and may require earlier or later hours, and/or weekends based on the needs of the facility.

Position Summary

As the QIDP, you will develop, implement, and monitor the Centers/Institutes admission policies and procedures. You will be responsible for providing a layer of oversight and accountability to ensure the care provision process continues to move forward, and that partners have proper information sharing. You will ensure that eligible individuals with an intellectual/developmental disability in need of urgent or emergency psychiatric services receive those services timely and in the least restrictive and most integrated setting consistent with their needs.

You will also be responsible for:
  • Integrating, coordinating, and monitoring each resident's active treatment program.
  • Providing liaison services between institutions, guardian/family, and community agencies.
  • Providing oversight and coordination of the resident's support and treatment plans ensuring that the admission objectives are met, and that continuous active treatment is provided as required by ICF-IID regulations.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to coordinate QIDP/Admission Coordinator activities.
  • Reviewing and analyzing quality assurance and quality improvement for admissions and treatment programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with Federal and State Regulations, policies, procedures and code including ensuring licensing and certification requirements are met.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $38.00 to $41.50 per hour (approximately $79,000 to $86,300 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Developmental Disabilities Coordinator and is in pay schedule and range 11/03.

Job Details

All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by DHS or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants are required to meet the definition of QIDP defined as:
  • A professional who has at least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities AND
  • Is one of the following: (1) a doctor of medicine or osteopathy; (2) a registered nurse; or (3) an individual who holds at least a bachelor's degree in a professional category specified in the Federal Register as meeting the QIDP qualifications as outlined in 483.430 of the Code of Federal Regulations . Note: Official transcripts will be required prior to appointment to the position.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities with co-occurring mental health and behavioral disorders.
  • Experience facilitating referrals for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and maintaining a referral database .
  • Experience providing case management services for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential treatment setting.
