The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Corrections Food Service Leader 3 position. This position is based out of Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth, WI.

Position Summary


This position serves as lead worker in the Food Service Department for CFSL 2’s and Persons in Our Care (PIOC). The duties include training and directing staff, maintaining inventories, preparing production sheets and adjusting menus and menu items as needed. The overall sanitation of the kitchen and dining room is supervised by this position to be in compliance of all DOC, State, and Federal guidelines.

Salary Information


This position is in pay schedule and range 03-13 with a starting pay of $23.94/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details


Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Training or teaching others skills and tasks in food preparation, cooking, meat cutting, and processing.
  • Planning menus using current inventory to avoid waste, producing meals in large quantities, and meeting scheduled meal times.
  • Working with food sanitation, ensuring food safety, and monitoring for sanitation standards.
