Introduction
Assembly Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde (D-Milwaukee) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Legislative Assistant in his State Capitol office. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic individual with strong verbal and written communications skills. The successful candidate is someone who has a willingness to work and learn. The position is available immediately.
Position Summary
This position will be to provide support in the areas of office administration, constituent relations, research, and communications.
Constituent Outreach
- Provide excellent service to constituents.
- Conduct district outreach including in-district roundtables/event planning.
- Manage constituent correspondence and maintain constituent database.
- Provide clerical and general office support as needed.
Communications
- Manage and create social media social media, press communications, strategy, and graphics/videos/reels, with the ability to write in legislator’s voice.
- Manage the creation and publication of our office’s monthly E-update.
- Manage legislative website.
Legislative Research
- Conduct research on proposed and existing legislation.
- Prepare prep documents for legislative floor sessions.
Salary Information
The position is classified as a part time Legislative Assistant and is not eligible for benefits. Starting range is $21.21 - $32.33 per hour depending on experience and education.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for the position include:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize simultaneous projects and duties.
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
- Motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication and skills.
- Understanding of social media and Canva
- Possess a high degree of professionalism and an understanding of discretion, attention to detail, and occasional long hours needed to effectively staff the Representative.
