The Tax Division is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented office assistant to support its Information Technology Division, contributing to the smooth operation of daily business functions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide general administrative and clerical support, including mailing, scanning, and copying
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and other correspondence
- Maintain organized filing systems, both digital and physical
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as needed
- Support office management tasks such as supply ordering and vendor coordination
- Assist with onboarding and HR-related documentation as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Google suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Employment requires a fingerprint-based criminal-background check to be provided at the West Virginia Tax Division's expense. Minimum Qualifications
Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.
Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
