What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Secretary-BPH-Office of Maternal Child & Family Health-Kanawha Co. position at State of West Virginia?
Nature of Work
1 Vacancy
Kanawha County
This position provides administrative support and leadership for the largest Office in the Bureau for Public Health (BPH), including support for multiple programs, initiatives, and state and federal funding sources. Supports Office Director (OD) and Deputy Office Director in administration of complex and varying financial, human resource, and public health matters of a potentially sensitive and confidential nature. Regular duties of this position are largely going undone or struggling to be covered by OD/Deputy OD or Division Secretaries as needed. Proactive management of administrative tasks is currently lacking dedicated human resources, resulting in frequent reactive tasks with tight or missed deadlines and no ongoing workflow processes. This position was posted last year, but uncertainty of federal funding delayed interviews and hiring. With federal funding now secure, the need for this position is critical to support the ongoing activity of the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health (OMCFH).
