If so, the Training and Development Unit is searching for the next Human Resource Consultant 3! The goal of this role is to review and monitor the quality of course assignments, data entry, auditing, class/course creation, and tracking/reporting of personnel, registrations, and activities entered into the Learning Center and related programs in the Learning Management Center!
The Training and Development Unit (TDU) Training and Information Management Team (TIMT) is responsible for the course configuration, assignment delivery, and compliance documentation for all online and instructor-led courses within the agency. The Human Resource Consultant 3 supervises team members who work with the Learning Center, HRMS, EasyVista, Active Directory and other DOC information management system, in addition to supervising the use of the agency-wide training helpdesk which handles all training service requests and resolutions, including course/class builds, LC errors, system navigation, training, and course troubleshooting.
As part of the TIMT management team, the Human Resource Consultant 3 works closely with the Training Information Manager to ensure training is developed, configured, assigned and/or made available to the applicable agency staff. You will serve as a “bridge” between TIMT’s Customer Support Team and System Admin Team and work collaboratively to ensure all programs in DOC are supported in their use of the LC.

As a Human Resource Consultant 3, some of your duties will include:
- Overseeing functionality and management for the Learning Management System (Learning Center) database including:
- Providing Learning Center training and access to agency stakeholders, end users, and staff
- Researching and resolving Learning Center functionality issues
- Partnering with internal project teams to ensure training deliverables and learning approaches
- Maintaining and operating various technologies used in the delivery of instructional, virtually instructional, or interactive online courses
- Researching and initiating all corrections and improvements to existing course catalog
- Supervising the work and staff comprising the Information Management Team Learning Center Helpdesk which could look like:
- Establishing Priorities and timelines for team assignments and individual duties
- Seeking and recommending ongoing developmental opportunities, including DES training classes, LinkedIn Learning classes, virtual conferences and ongoing stakeholder meetings
- Cross training the team on various work areas, tasks, and systems used by TIMT
- Providing advanced support and guidance to complex issues and elevated user requests
- Developing and monitoring standards and procedures to assist in Learning Center governance
- Designing and maintaining EasyVista TDU ownership and workflows
- Other duties as assigned
What we need (required qualifications):
- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years experience in a supervisory or lead role
- Two (2) years experience in the administration of an information management system
- Two (2) years experience in supporting end users in a learning management system
- Three (3) years of experience using Microsoft Office with advanced skills in MS Excel
- Experience managing and communicating information using platforms such as SharePoint, MS Teams, or MS365 tools
What will make your application stand out (preferred qualifications):
- A Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business administration, human resources, or a related field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a foreign equivalent.
- Experience working in the Washington State Learning Center
- Experience extracting information from various data sources
- Experience supporting customers in a virtual environment
- Experience in managing an IT or customer support helpdesk

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. If authorized for the role, work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
