Internal Control Compliance Auditor

State of Utah
Taylorsville, UT Full Time
POSTED ON 4/8/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/7/2026

Are you detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking for a career that offers stability, mentorship, and a chance to make a difference? The Division of Finance is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Internal Control Compliance Auditor. This is an entry-level position designed for someone with the right aptitude and attitude to launch a career in government finance and auditing.

In this role, you will serve as a critical monitor of the State’s financial integrity. Working under the direct supervision and mentorship of an experienced Compliance Manager, you will help ensure that the internal controls designed to protect taxpayer funds are operating effectively across state agencies. You do not need to be an expert on day one—we are willing to train the right person who possesses a high attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and exceptional communication skills.

Unlike external auditors who visit once a year, you will act as a collaborative partner to state agencies, helping them identify gaps in their processes and offering recommendations for improvement. If you have an accounting degree or equivalent experience with an interest in financial compliance and are looking for a supportive environment where you can grow your skills while maintaining a healthy work-life balance, we encourage you to apply.

  • Continuous Learning: Actively learning state policies, audit standards, and professional practice guidelines. While strict adherence to external audit standards is not required, you will apply them as a "best practice" in your daily work.
