Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:
- Cooking/preparing 3 meals a day for 75 people
- Delivery of meals to buildings and apartments using a cart
- Producing freezer meals for the weekends and holidays
- Cleaning and sanitizing serving dishes and serving spoons
- Recipe feedback to supervisor
- Preparing, cooking and serving food without waste and to meet budgetary and quality assurance expectations.
- Meeting required Federal, State, and County Health Department food service regulations and OSHA standards of health, safety and sanitation.
Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
- One or more years of prior work experience in the food industry
- Prior experience working with the intellectually disabled
- This position requires you to be able to lift up to 50 pounds or 1/4 of your body weight, whichever is less with or without a reasonable accommodation
- A current Utah County Food Handlers permit and maintain certification
- Ability to prepare food
- Distribute food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques
- Principles, theories and practices of food safety and public health protection
- Maintain inventory; track receipt, sending and delivery of materials
- Principles, theories, and practices inventory control
- Use cleaning agents, products and equipment
- Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
