Responsibilities
Initially the Financial Manager II will need to work Monday – Thursday at the Taylorsville State Office Building located at 4315 South 2700 West, Taylorsville, Utah. The position will report to the Division Finance Director. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers.

Responsibilities
- Develop, communicate, implement and monitor processes and controls.
- Manage and develop staff.
- Monitor fiscal operations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and the supporting detail.
- Respond to inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Analyze, summarize, and review data, interpret results, make recommendations, implement changes if needed.
- Help to lead and manage the fiscal year end processes and requests.
- Learn Asset Works and ensure that the data is accurate and current.
- A desire to learn and work with others.
- Ability to manage multiple fiscal activities.
- Have five or more years of experience with FINET or another automated accounting system.
- Five or more years of experience in governmental accounting, budget management, or financial management.
- Experience with accounting and/or business systems and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work well with colleagues and maintain a professional demeanor in representing DFCM and the State of Utah
