The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) State Office is looking to fill a Domestic Violence Prevention Administrator, Program Administrator I to lead the Domestic Violence program for the Division.
The Domestic Violence Prevention Administrator leads the state's Domestic Violence (DV) program and the internal DV Community program for DCFS, serving as the primary point of contact for DV prevention in Utah. This role is a member of the Programs Team and is the primary contact for the Family Violence Prevention Services Act (FVPSA) grant.
Key Responsibilities

Travel required: Must have a valid driver's license. May require you to use your personal vehicle to perform the duties of this position. All approved mileage driven by using a personal vehicle is reimbursable by State Finance. The reimbursement rate is determined by State Finance.
Physical Requirements
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Working Conditions
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop an annual Domestic Violence Prevention plan.
- Manage the FVPSA grant budget, including creating and monitoring contracts.
- Coordinate grant funding and services with community partners, including DV shelters, and DV treatment and prevention providers.
- Implement program strategies focused on efficiency and improvement.
- Represent the agency with federal, state, and local government entities, and coordinate with the media and private organizations as assigned.
- Administering and overseeing the domestic violence program.
- Writing the scope of work for the domestic violence shelters and treatment contracts.
- Conducting training needs assessments.
- Recommending and developing trainings in collaboration with the Professional Development Team.
- Using research data to sustain and improve existing practices and programs.
- Planning, managing, and monitoring the budget for the DV program.
- Participating as an ex-officio member of the Utah Domestic Violence Council.
- Coordinating and referring services of community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, and/or other community partners with families, clients, or those receiving services.
- A team player who understands the value of membership on a strong team.
- Foundational knowledge of Federal and State statutes, regulations, and division Administrative and Practice Guidelines.
- Professional work experience in prevention programs or specifically domestic violence prevention programs.
- Experience leading a team of professionals.
- Able to engage and influence diverse audiences by communicating professionally with clarity, conciseness, and empathy.
- Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Able to establish and maintain effective work relationships with employees, representatives of other agencies, and the public.
Preference May Be Given To Candidates Who Have
- Have five years or more of experience working with domestic violence (DV), OR who have a Bachelor's degree in a human services related field with at least one year of experience working with DV.
