We are hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to develop plans promoting independent life skills for intellectually disabled individuals in our care.
The Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) at USDC work closely with other team members to provide and improve behavioral health support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, some of whom also have mental health illnesses. BCBAs at USDC work in a holistic residential campus setting to conduct functional behavior assessments and to develop and revise behavior support plans using applied behavior analysis principles. They also train staff members on behavior support plans and effective behavior management, including crisis prevention and intervention. BCBAs also provide supervision.
Principal Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools.
- Conduct functional assessments and analysis when appropriate.
- Develop behavior plans/treatment plans with a focus on reducing problematic behaviors and increasing positive behaviors.
- Train staff in ways to promote positive behaviors and in de-escalation strategies.
- Promote a healthy, supportive culture for the individuals and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in the state of Utah.
- Experience working one or more years with intellectually disabled or developmentally delayed individuals.
- Experience working two or more years working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Conduct functional behavior assessments to understand the root causes of behaviors.
Develop individualized behavior support plans based on the functional behavior assessment.
Oversee the implementation of behavior support plans.
Create and maintain data systems, including regularly collecting data to track client progress and to make adjustments as needed.
Work collaboratively with team members and family members.
Support other members on the behavior health team.
Provide training to staff and community members.
Provide or oversee supervision for behavioral staff as needed.
Ensure behavior support plans follow ethical guidelines, relevant regulations, and in accordance with best practices.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in applied behavior analysis.
Assist team in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
Supervise Behavior Analysts in Training fieldwork hours for BCBA certification.
Required to certify in the MANDT System including physical performance of the various MANDT Physical interventions and techniques. This includes the ability to train staff and to engage an aggressive individual using MANDT to protect themselves & others, with de-escalation as the focus.
Strong foundation in applied behavioral analysis.
Strong skills in data systems; including data collection, analysis, presentation, and using data to inform treatment.
Flexible and adaptable team member.
Collaborate across the interdisciplinary team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft applications.
Experience in developing and implementing effective behavior support plans.
Experience in conducting thorough and efficient functional behavior assessment.
Ability to create and provide effective training.
Experience in supervising behaviorists or RBTs.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a current State of Utah licensure.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations. Institutional surroundings and hazards, including being subject to possible physical attack, as well as physical and/or verbal abuse and/or exposure to ill patients, cleaning compounds and supplies.
- You must successfully pass a criminal history check.
