The SD State Brand Board is seeking an Accounting Assistant - a detailed oriented individual to assist with fundamental accounting procedures in processing livestock inspection forms, recording revenue, preparing expense vouchers, and other routine accounting procedures. This position works with other fiscal professionals in the Brand Office. The SD State Brand Board is responsible for administering the livestock ownership inspection program and the livestock brand registration program.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- The ability to follow established operating procedures in processing livestock inspections forms and payments.
- Experience in reviewing documents for accuracy.
- An understanding of livestock brands and livestock ownership requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- livestock brand and livestock ownership requirements are helpful but not required;
- basic accounting principles;
- Microsoft Excel and Word.
- accurately process livestock inspection forms;
- review documents for accuracy;
- receipt payments;
- balance daily transactions;
- prepare expense vouchers for payment.
- learn specific software used for processing of inspection documents and receipting payments;
- be organized and maintain manual and computerized filing system;
- establish effective working relationships with brand inspectors, livestock producers and staff;
- communicate information clearly and accurately.
