- Supervise and assist in installation and emergency repair of plumbing systems, underground utilities and sewer systems statewide.
- Submit requisitions and estimated costs on routine maintenance and institutional repairs.
- Instruct and train personnel in the operation of plumbing, sewer and underground utility systems.
- Perform required tests and collect data to improve and maintain efficiency and performance of all related systems.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and 5 years of trades experience directly related fire/sprinkler systems to the area of employment.
Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct and work with other people.
Employees are also required to obtain a backflow tester license through DHEC.
