What are the responsibilities and job description for the Government/Political Science Adjunct position at State of South Carolina?

Job Purpose:

Teach American Government courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Job Duties:

Teaching Responsibilities ·
*Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development. ·
*Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis. · Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

Instructional Development ·
*Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course. ·
*Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success. ·
*Prepare reports in cooperation with the Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the college or programs.

Professional Development ·
*Attend relevant professional meetings. ·
*Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Master’s Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 18 graduate hours in political science/American government is required. Unofficial transcripts are required when applying.

Official transcripts preferred. Working knowledge of internet & adaptability to online Learning Management Systems highly recommended
