Plans and directs the data collection, data management, training, education, and research activities for the Emergency Medical Services & Trauma section. Functions as the Information Technology representative and webmaster for the section.

  • Performs fundamental supervisory and leadership functions in accordance with agency policies and procedures, best practices and Federal and State rules and regulations, especially with regard to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) standards. Maintains an effective organizational team and motivates diverse staff to accomplish mission critical operations and objectives. Promotes workforce engagement and a safe, professional, and productive work environment for all employees.
  • Serves as the training coordinator for the EMS & Trauma section, conducting educational institution certification inspections and program site visits. Updates credentials in ImageTrend, facilitates instructor orientation, and acts as a liaison with training institutions.
  • Collaborates with peers to design, implement, test, and support EMS and Trauma Section systems. Assists users with software issues, develops technical documentation, and helps ensure systems and processes meet agency standards. May serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Identifies training needs, develops training materials, and manages integration processes to maintain NEMSIS compliance. Participates in technical calls with platform providers and serves as the Unit’s technology representative and webmaster. Supports dashboard development, generates internal and external reports, and responds to FOIA requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting with special projects, participating in disaster preparedness and response, and serving as an essential employee subject to duty and/or call on a 24-hour basis during an emergency.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Agency Additional Requirements: Must be certified as a SC Paramedic or eligible to obtain National Registry Paramedic credential within one (1) year of hire. Must have experience in data management and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree and work experience with an Emergency Medical Service as a Paramedic. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in EMS, supervisory/management experience, training coordination, or regulatory knowledge of EMS Accreditation Standards, previous EMS instructor experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
