Clinical Adjunct Instructor - Nuclear Medicine Technology, Columbia, Midlands Region

The Clinical Adjunct Instructor serves as an extension of the classroom by providing hands-on clinical instruction and reinforcing the science, professionalism, and theory that support nuclear medicine procedures. This position includes direct supervision and support of Nuclear Medicine Technology students in the clinical setting, evaluation of clinical competencies, reinforcement of patient care and imaging protocols, and ongoing communication with program faculty regarding student progress and performance. 

Adjunct personnel will work closely with the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, and clinical affiliates to ensure students are progressing appropriately. The instructor will also help identify any areas of concern or deficiency and assist in addressing them in a timely, professional, and supportive manner.

Midlands Region Responsibilities:
• Approximately 2 days per week 
• Provides clinical coverage and student oversight at affiliated clinical sites in Columbia, Charleston, Sumter, Florence, and surrounding areas as needed 
• Assists with student competency evaluations, clinical mentoring, and reinforcement of program expectations and clinical standards

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS), certificate, or higher degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology 
• Certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine [ARRT(N)]
• Current or prior licensure, certification, or credentialing as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with sufficient professional experience to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position
• Minimum of one year of post-graduate full-time experience as a practicing Nuclear Medicine Technologist 
• Demonstrated ability to instruct, mentor, and support students in the clinical setting
• Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between assigned clinical affiliates and instructional locations as needed
• Three or more years of professional experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology
• Prior teaching, precepting, mentoring, or clinical training experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, evaluate, and encourage student learning
• Familiarity with JRCNMT standards, ARRT and NMTCB competency requirements, and clinical education best practices
• Experience working with diverse student populations in academic or healthcare settings
Adjunct personnel are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established adjunct and temporary staffing guidelines.

Adjunct personnel will be compensated for authorized clinical instruction, student supervision, competency evaluations, classroom support activities, and other approved program-related responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director or designee. Hours may vary based on program needs, clinical schedules, student enrollment, and assigned responsibilities. Reliable transportation and travel between affiliated clinical and instructional sites may be required.

Final compensation details, approved duties, and assigned schedules will be outlined in the adjunct employment agreement upon hire.
