Job Responsibilities
This position is located in Bureau of Medicaid Systems, Richland County.
Are you the One? We are looking for an IT Business Analyst I who will serve as a Business/Systems Analyst for the MMIS Operations team, under general supervision by the MMIS Operations Manager. As such, the Information Systems/Business Analyst is responsible for supporting MMIS operational activities including gathering requirements, documenting, reporting, systems support, issue/project tracking, and coordination with business users.
- Performs operational support activities for the legacy MMIS and subsystems. Receives and responds to requests and inquiries from business stakeholders. Monitors vendor requests and coordinates between business and technical staff. Identifies trending issues and escalates to program management as needed. Translates business requests and needs into system requirements and technical requests.
- Develops, retrieves, and distributes reports and datasets to multiple internal and external stakeholders for purposes of monitoring, reconciliation, and operational processing. Track, update, and maintain MMIS Operations team Jira Dashboard. Prepares visual documentation for processes and requirements such as flow charts and process diagrams to illustrate processes, interfaces, integrations, and procedures.
- Coordinates special team projects. Creates and updates procedural documentation for MMIS Operations processes to ensure consistency and best practices. Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and other communications as required. Participates in MITS risk mitigation processes. Updates MITS AARs; monitors and reports issues, root cause analysis, and recommendations. Supports, monitors, and coordinates the Data Match process whereby providers can request eligibility information for recipients for periods outside of those available in the standard eligibility verification interfaces/tools.
- Identifies and completes appropriate and relevant professional development activities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience in computer system support, development, modification and operations. Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility & enrollment processes and procedures. Knowledge of Medicaid claims and provider operations concepts.
Preferred: Experience working with a Medicaid eligibility and/or enrollment information system in an operations capacity. Proficiency in Office Suite, Jira, and SharePoint.
Additional Requirements:
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of capabilities and intricacies of MMIS.
- Ability to understand and carry out technical instructions and requests. Ability to analyze technical data. Knowledge of Jira software and FootPrints ticketing system.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel.
- Ability to assist with identifying and resolving problems.
- Ability to assist with providing status and operational reports in a clear and concise manner.
