Position Summary:
The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring of patients, identifying rhythm changes, maintaining telemetry equipment, and promptly notifying clinical staff of critical findings.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry for assigned patients
- Print and maintain daily rhythm strips
- Verify accurate date/time documentation on telemetry recordings
- Maintain appropriate alarm parameters
- Troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment
- Notify nursing staff of critical cardiac events
- Perform ECGs as needed
- Maintain monitor room supplies
Requirements
- Travel experience preferred
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation knowledge preferred
- ECG experience helpful
- Good computer skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
