Description of Work

The Casework Associate I, serving as the Transition Client Manager, is based at the WorkSource Facility in Morganton and provides support and service coordination under the direction of the WorkSource West Facility Director or designee. This position primarily supports transition-age students and youth, working directly with individuals on school-based caseloads to assist with planning, coordination, and access to needed services.

Job Responsibilities Include the Following:

• Evaluating professional diagnostic medical, psychological, or vocational data to determine eligibility and required services for service delivery.

• Developing and implementing individualized plans of rehabilitation services for eligible consumers.

• Arranging for appropriate evaluations and other services as indicated on the Individualized Plan for Employment the provision of planned services.

• Entering Pre-Employment Transition Services documentation in the case management system and serving as the Pre-ETS liaison

• Engaging in various administrative duties including case service documentation, caseload management, staff and other administrative meetings.

• Participating in training and professional development activities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

  • Knowledge of casework management and processes

  • Knowledge and experience working with persons with disabilities

  • Experience working with the public and with teams

  • Valid driver's license required for travel within assigned areas

Salary Range: $31, $54,397.00

Position is funded in part through federal funds.

Veterans' and National Guard Preference

  • Applicants who are former members of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of their DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution;

or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.
