Description of Work

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic traffic control systems, lighted signs, and roadway lighting. The employee will lead and participate in the installation of traffic signal equipment, including wiring and installing signal heads, detectors, and controllers. Duties also include tracing electrical wiring diagrams, identifying and resolving issues, dismantling and reassembling controllers, replacing worn or faulty components, and testing traffic control systems for proper operation. Strong diagnostic skills are essential for identifying problems in electrical systems. In addition to technical responsibilities, the position includes supervising and training lower-level technicians, ensuring that daily tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, and providing technical support and oversight for maintenance and installation work. The employee must also possess above-average computer skills to maintain electronic records and documentation. Safety toe shoes are required, and the employee must be available for overtime and emergency callbacks as needed.
