The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Parks and Recreation Aide 2 (Naturalist) will work in Park Operations under the direction of the Environmental Educator 2, SG-18, or their designee in the Environmental Education & Interpretation/Recreation Department. The incumbent will perform duties, including but not limited to, the following: • Assist in the development and implementation of environmental education courses and programs dealing with the various flora, fauna and historic features of the area. • Assist in leading indoor and outdoor recreational programs; carry and transport program materials to program sites. • Generate informational displays and literature.• Assist with planning and running special events and recreational activities. • Work with other park staff as assigned, including supporting programs at other regional facilities.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.• Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds• Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
