The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Acts as an administrative link and supervises the overall provision of nursing care on all inpatient disability units. Provides supervision to employees; works with Nursing Administration to plan, establish and assure achievement of department goals, policies and procedures. Prepare for the annual DOH Survey. Coordinates all nursing/patient activities; collaborates with Infection Prevention Nurse, Staff Development Coordinator, Nursing Performance Improvement Coordinator, MDS Coordinator and Director of Quality/Outcome Management and other NAIs as indicated. Direct line responsibility for projected and immediate staffing, covers absences on all shifts as necessary. House supervision on a rotating basis. Completes probation reports, annual evaluations and submits LATS in a timely manner. Works closely with the Human Resources Department regarding employee relations and other duties as assigned.

Substitution: a bachelor’s degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing can substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Transfers: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service that is eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Registered Nurse Supervisor I Rehab. Promotion Provisional Appointment: In the absence of an eligible list with three or more candidates willing to accept a position, a temporary provisional appointment may be considered.
