The pay range for this position is $30.02/hour - $46.63/hour*

**This supervisor position is eligible for a Supervisor In-Band Advancement (IBA) which will provide an increase in pay equivalent to one step.**

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Adult & Aging Services has a full-time vacancy for APS District Office Supervisor.

Summary:

Supervises the implementation of APS program objectives, including program administration and evaluation. Supervises subordinate staff in planning and implementing program goals and objectives at the District Office or State Office level of the Office of Human Services (OHS), Adult Protective Services as mandated by law and administrative rule.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 7 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in social work, adult protective services, psychology, counseling, sociology or human services, with at least one year in a supervisory or management level position in any occupational area.

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license or access to transportation

The work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.

Responsibilities:

Supervises and trains Adult Protective Services staff to assure the provision of quality services; attends scheduled supervisory meetings to receive/disseminate information and to participate in program development.

Reviews and recommends personnel actions for subordinate employees, including step increases, promotions, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations; approves/denies requests for leave. Screens, interviews and approves applicants for Adult Protective Social Worker (APSW) positions to ensure the hiring of capable staff.

Assigns work to subordinate APSW staff; coordinates the equal distribution of workload; evaluates the work performance of subordinates to ensure the delivery of quality services to clients.

Interprets laws, rules and policies for subordinate staff; provides information and education to community agencies, partners, and the general public about APS roles and responsibilities, APS Services, and the Adult Protection Program.

Reviews and evaluates program objectives, workload data, and other program activity reports, and recommends changes to APS Administration for the enhancement of program objectives, staff performance and office functioning.

Collects, analyzes and prepares data for APS Administration to assure programmatic and budget compliance; addresses discrepancies as needed.

Initiates interagency/community planning activities to develop protocols and services that address the unmet needs of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable adult and elderly citizens; initiates critical contacts with courts, law enforcement and other agencies involved with Adult Protective Services families.
