The DMH Way & Supervision Training Coordinator is an additional set of duties performed by a member of Staff Development. In addition to their program and Staff Development assignments, this individual would assist with the design of a comprehensive supervision training curriculum in coordination with FSH and DMH Central Office. In addition, they would obtain and maintain all required facilitation certifications to deliver DMH Way with high fidelity. It is imperative that they are able to understand, utilize and demonstrate the practices taught in DMH Way, including difficult conversations, de-escalation techniques and effective communication.

• Partner with Fulton State Hospital (FSH) Treatment Services, Hospital Operations, Human Resources, and other departments to assess training needs, develop a training strategy and curriculum, implement training, and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
• Coordinate training between DMH Central Office Administration and the FSH’s clinical/operational supervisors to ensure that supervisory training across the facility standardizes leadership practices, supervisory models and regulatory compliance.
• Function as the primary FSH DMH Way facilitator, working closely with the facility Organizational Engagement Officer (OEO) to organize, schedule, and conduct DMH Way training sessions for facility staff.
• Learn and participate in all Staff Development training processes including but not limited to SMART, NEO, BPTC, CPR/HCP, Program Training, etc.
• Shares a rotating training schedule with other Staff Development Trainers.
• Develop, delivers and/or coordinates the delivery of all training, including situation management and physical intervention training (SMART).
• Coordinates all presentations and training delivered to new hires in different disciplines (NEO)
• Obtain certification in DMH Way skills in order to facilitate trainings.
• Assist hospital and program leadership in identifying staff training needs across disciplines
• Work collaboratively with assigned treatment program to identify program-specific training, development, or in-service needs.
• Provide staff support and coverage in living areas as needed and assigned by program leadership.
• Participate in regular drills and opportunities for staff to practice skills taught in class.
• Structure all training content to include a trauma informed lens
• Seek to innovate the staff training processes.
• Other duties as assigned by Staff Development Supervisor.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Social Work, or related field preferred but not required.
• Prior psychiatric technician experience preferred.
• Exhibit well developed communication skills. Can professionally receive and follow oral instructions in English.
• Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
• Exhibit safe and productive work habits.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience as a Staff Development Trainer with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
• Two or more years of professional supervisory experience with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System.
