The incumbent provides assistance to internal agency users and external library partners, helps resolve technical issues of moderate complexity, maintains documentation, and supports technology services and infrastructure projects under the guidance of higher-level information technology staff.
Examples of work include providing technical support to Mississippi Library Commission staff and public libraries; troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and workstation issues; assisting with workstation deployment, configuration, and maintenance; supporting network infrastructure projects and technology upgrades; assisting with technology assessments for public libraries; documenting technical issues, resolutions, equipment information, and project activities; supporting E-Rate Category 2 internal network infrastructure projects; coordinating with agency IT staff, vendors, and library personnel; assisting with installation or replacement of networking hardware and related equipment; providing user guidance on routine technology issues; and performing related duties as assigned.
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years of experience.
