Job Summary

This position assists in the enhancement, support, and management of the Background Studies Division’s NETStudy 2.0 software and processes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and overseeing the completion of tasks.
  • Monitoring system queues to ensure daily operational tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Providing support to project leads in carrying out routine tasks that ensure work continue to move forward.
  • Following established procedures and protocols to address technical issues received by customers via email.
  • Accessing and analyzing background study data with a focus on data in NETStudy 2.0.

This position assists in the enhancement, support, and management of the Background Studies Division’s NETStudy 2.0 software and processes. NETStudy 2.0 includes “front office” functions meaning interfaces with external users and “back office” functions meaning internal workflow processes and data interfaces with internal and external agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience supporting and overseeing system tasks.
AND

Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Monitoring assigned tasks and providing status updates.
  • Addressing system issues and related concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of applicable Background Studies Laws (MN Chapter 13, 245C, 245A, etc.) and/or background study processes.
  • Advanced computer and word-processing skills and experience in use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Experience managing multiple work assignments with competing deadlines without compromising the required quality of the work product or causing unintended workflow issues for others.
  • Monitor and provide status reports related to enterprise systems, vendor relations, etc.
  • Help desk or other customer service experience.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.

It is the policy of the Department of Human Services that the individual selected for this position successfully complete a background investigation prior to employment, including the following components:

  • Criminal background check
  • Reference check
  • Fingerprinting check (MNJIS/CJIS)

Complete the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Security Awareness training within 3-business days from the start of employment; and successfully obtain/retain CJIS certification annually.
