The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance (UI) program has an opening for a UI Supervisor. This position is responsible for the supervision of business operations and activities within the UI program. Candidates will be evaluated for an opening in the Special Programs unit leading a team responsible for various financial management responsibilities, including coordination of administrative budgets.
The position will supervise staff and operations in order to ensure that customers are well served, activities are in compliance with Minnesota UI law, and overall program goals are realized. The position exercises supervisory authority so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, and staff effectively perform assigned job duties to achieve the annual objective of the UI program.
This position will be based out of the St. Paul office.
This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
Four (4) years of experience in the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance program*
OR
Four (4) years of experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, or project lead in a public sector eligibility based program with at least six (6) months of that experience in the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance program*
- Experience in UI must be within the last three (3) years
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
- Experience in coaching and training staff sufficient to lead the work unit.
- Experience in Minnesota Unemployment Insurance laws, rules, departmental operations, practices, and procedures.
- Experience in human relations including ability to negotiate, collaborate, build, and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience using reliable data sources to drive decision making and solve problems.
- Organizational skills to manage workload, competing priorities, and still meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience in creating business processes and training materials.
- Experience in group facilitation.
- Experience understanding the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Program business model.
