Main Purpose of Job

Coordinate and complete office setups, moves and food pantry deliveries. Lead the daily office courier mail service, pick-up, and delivery of boxes and supplies.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Coordinate and deliver heavy furniture and equipment to other locations as needed.
  • Lead the daily courier mail service, pick up, and delivery of boxes and supplies.
  • Office set-ups entail setting up or rearranging office furniture and equipment.
  • Preparation of mail courier bags for daily mail run to all satellite and support offices. Performs maintenance and repairs office furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Handles, pickups, stores, and disposals at the County Land Field all shredded material, confidential documents, and furniture etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience: One year experience performing clerical duties in an office environment.

Notes

  • Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
  • Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, data base, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical or Office Services specialty codes in the Clerical Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Six months of experience providing Customer Service.
  • Six months of experience performing data entry including documenting deliveries and pickups.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. You may be asked to complete a supplemental questionnaire. The supplemental questionnaire may be used as part of the rating process. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.

  • Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
  • Annual Leave – ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
  • Sick Leave – fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
  • Parental Leave – up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
  • Holidays – State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holiday per year.
  • Pension – State employees earn credits towards a retirement pension.
  • Positions may be eligible for telework.
