Introduction
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.
Experience: Four years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position. - This recruitment is limited to current Springfield Hospital Center employees only*** GRADE STD 0019 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville, MD Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to provide supervisory level of professional clinical social work to social work staff, provide coverage, and assist as needed with direct social work services to patients in a state psychiatric hospital. This position administers social work programs and contributes to departmental policy development. This position administers hospital programs and serves as a liaison to community programs and stakeholders, as needed. This position assures the fulfillment within the departmental scope of services of the hospital mission to provide care and treatment to patients. This position participates in offered monthly PMAB training to maintain competence in the use of prevention strategies and hospital-approved physical interventions. This position is considered an Essential Emergency Employee.
