Introduction
The Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is located in Hunt Valley, MD. We are a State agency charged with conducting fair and timely hearings in 500 different types of cases for over 30 State agencies.
We are looking for an individual who is organized, has the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and lift up to 40 pounds to join our team as an Office Coordinator. This position serves as the agency buyer and is responsible for building maintenance, contract monitoring and safety and security.
The salary range is $63,380 to $67,049 annually. (State salary guidelines do apply for current state employees.)

Main Purpose of Job
This position functions as the Office Coordinator within Finance and Administration of the Office of Administrative Hearings. This position coordinates the office and building needs of employees and the public including purchasing all office supplies and furniture; building maintenance and cleanliness; security, etc. This position assists with the Office of Administrative Hearings’ (OAH) procurement processes and is responsible for monitoring current contracts according to State regulations and guidelines. A critical part of this position is processing requisitions, purchase orders, blanket purchase orders, change orders, etc. within the State of Maryland’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS). This position is also responsible for managing and tracking all capital assets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
To be eligible for this position, candidates must
- have experience with the State of MD’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
- be able to lift up to 40 pounds in order to perform the essential functions of the job, and
- have a valid driver’s license.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications:
- have building maintenance experience.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
