NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION:
Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility.

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Social Service Counselor 4-B to provide outpatient substance use treatment for adults referred to Columbia Integrated Care Clinic. This position requires knowledge of clinical interventions and operational practices for treating substance use disorders within a whole-person, integrated care environment, where behavioral health and physical health are treated as interdependent components of overall wellness.

Applicants with licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC) are encouraged to apply.

Six years of social services experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR

An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus two years of social services experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA), or its successor.

  • Works as part of a treatment team to provide quality care and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health (mental health or substance use) treatment, while adhering to the Integrated Care Model to contribute to the overall improvement of the consumers' physiological and psychological wellness.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and manages treatment services for complex behavioral health cases, as well as, completing initial and follow ASIs, observes and collects urine drug screen, administers alcohol swabs, or breathalyzer.
  • Facilitates group therapy, individual counseling, psychoeducation, and random urine drug screens to provide ongoing substance abuse treatment to consumers who have a substance use disorder diagnosis.
  • Initiates professional correspondence, following the appropriate chain of command and attends in-service trainings for staff and completes required training in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the collection of data for TOMS and QOC surveys as assigned, completes written and electronic records with concurrent documentation, and maintains order and integrity of healthcare records.
  • Serves as backup treatments, medical, and support staff at NEDHSA's clinics, as needed.

Appointment Type:   Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty

Location: Columbia Integrated Care Clinic

Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.

  • 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
